Blue Ballet, Bemus Bay Pops
Lake Erie Ballet and Torn Curtain reprise the Blue Ballet at Bemus Bay Pops on August 31. 9pm. Produced by Alethea Bodine and Rick DiBello of the Lake Erie Ballet. Blue Ballet is a multi-media live excursion featuring the music of The Moody Blues as performed by Torn Curtain, with special guest members Kevin Bensink (Bass), Phil Popotnik (Flute), Derf Hopsecger (Keys) and Rick Cass (Drums). Lake Erie Ballet Senior Company will perform original works as choreographed by Director, Alethea Bodine. An added feature of the Blue Ballet includes original set design by Brad Ford and David Seitzinger along with artwork of Fran Schanz & Tom Ferraro in multimedia projections. |

This This year marks the Lake Erie Ballet's 54th annual holiday tradition. The Lake Erie Ballet will again host performers from Point Park and Mercyhurst University Dance Departments. On Saturday evening, and Sunday afternoon, the Lake Erie Ballet Orchestra will again perform under the direction of Hugh Keelan. Tickets for the Saturday, Dec. 15th 7:00 pm and the Sunday, Dec. 16th 2:30 pm performances - with orchestra – of Lake Erie Ballet 2012 Nutcracker are available through the Erie Civic Center Box office (10/29), 452-4857 or via the internet at www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $18 / $24 / $32. |

Sleeping Beauty / Jungle Book - Erie Playhouse

This production will celebrate the culmination of Lake Erie Ballet's 65th season for the Academy of Dance. The Lake Erie Ballet Companies and students of the Academy of Dance will perform a new full length work - Sleeping Beauty, celebrating the full dynamic range of training offered at the Lake Erie Ballet. This tale, set to the music of Petor Ilych Tchaikovsky, will take us through the life of baby Aurora, as a blessed – and cursed – child, her tumultuous adolescence and her eventual awakening and marriage. This production will be a treat of a classic for young and old! Celebrate our 65th with us with our 2013 Sleeping Beauty. |
